Pregnancy Stretch Marks

When you are pregnant and your tummy is growing larger and larger, you might start worrying about stretch marks. Some pregnant woman start combating them right away while others don’t worry about combating them until the first few show up. However, no matter what, if you get stretch marks during pregnancy, they won’t likely go away after the baby is born.

One thing you can do to help prevent stretch marks is to work out before you get pregnant and throughout your pregnancy. When you have your body in shape, you will be less likely to gain unnecessary weight, which is often what causes stretch marks. You will also have your skin in shape so you can bet it will be ready to stretch a bit.

Another way to prevent stretch marks in pregnancy is to use cocoa butter. Although this is not confirmed scientifically to help prevent stretch marks, many women would attest to it. And since you need to moisturize your body anyhow, why not use cocoa butter? Just keep some by your bed and in your bathroom so you can lather it on after the shower and before bedtime. When you do this daily you can really make a difference in your skin.

There are many changes your body will go through during pregnancy. Stretch marks are only one of the things you may worry about. However, you should know that when you hold your little one in your arms, your stretch marks will likely be the last of your concerns.
